April 28, 2019 – The Blue Vigil tether system aided police and public works officials in Quebec, Canada when flooding threatened the community. The town of Ste-Marthe-sur-le-Lac, a small community northwest of Montreal, was facing flooding from Lac des Deux Montagnes when a natural dike was breached. The officials deployed a tethered drone using the Blue Vigil RS1000 system to assess the situation. By monitoring the breach, 6000 residents, approximately one third of the city’s population were provided ample notice to evacuate 2500 homes.
